In order to enter the "How To" Craft Contest, you will need to create an instructional piece that shows your audience how to "do" your favorite craft.

Step 1: Decide whether you are going to create a video or photo/written piece.

Step 2: Decide what you are going to teach.  Not only do you need to decide which craft you are going to demonstrate (knitting or scrapbooking?) but you will need to decide what you will teach within that craft.  You can give a lesson on a specific technique, teach a project, or give a general over-all lesson of the craft; it's up to you.

Step 3:  Start working on your submission!

Tips for video pieces:

  • Plan what you are going to say ahead of time.
  • Make sure you are in a well lit area with an attractive background.
  • Shoot a few times so you have options while you are editing.

Tips for photo/written pieces:

  • Proofread your writing for clarity and grammatical errors.
  • Make sure to include photos for better explanation.

There is no time or length limit for entries, but don't use that as an excuse to get all Dickens on us.  Keep your entries the appropriate length for their content, and keep your audience interested.

If you need some inspiration...
