In order to enter the "How To" Craft Contest, you will need to create an instructional piece that shows your audience how to "do" your favorite craft.

Step 1: Decide whether you are going to create a video or photo/written piece.

Step 2: Decide what you are going to teach.  Not only do you need to decide which craft you are going to demonstrate (knitting or scrapbooking?) but you will need to decide what you will teach within that craft.  You can give a lesson on a specific technique, teach a project, or give a general over-all lesson of the craft; it's up to you.

Step 3:  Start working on your submission!

Tips for video pieces:

  • Plan what you are going to say ahead of time.
  • Make sure you are in a well lit area with an attractive background.
  • Shoot a few times so you have options while you are editing.

Tips for photo/written pieces:

  • Proofread your writing for clarity and grammatical errors.
  • Make sure to include photos for better explanation.

There is no time or length limit for entries, but don't use that as an excuse to get all Dickens on us.  Keep your entries the appropriate length for their content, and keep your audience interested.

If you need some inspiration...

Vote!

Get your friends to vote for your entry.  Vote for yourself.  Vote for other people.  Vote for the good of humanity.

Voting is easy and important.  There aren't any confusing ballots that would warrent a re-count, and you don't have to wait until the lines are open at the end of the show to text TEMPO 06.

See that little thumbs up at the bottom of  your text boxes?

Click on it to vote for an entry.

And you're done!

The public's vote will help determine the finalists, and the winner will be determined by the judges.

Those of you with video entries... don't forget to add an introductory text box to your PNN page so people can vote on your video.  (Videos don't have a vote feature yet.)  Heck, you might even want to write something like "Vote here, dummy" in the box.  Or maybe something more like "Please vote for me here!"  The level of politeness in your request is totally up to you.
